Lambasingi, which in recent years is attracting tourists after reports about its sub-zero temperature and virgin eco-system, will soon find a place in world tourism map.

During an extensive tour of the Agency areas on Sunday, Special Chief Secretary, Tourism Chandana Khan announced that the AP Tourism Development Corporation would finalise a blueprint to promote the place as a tourist destination.

During Sankranti period, Lambasingi, located about 110 km from the city on the ghat road leading to Chintapalle, recorded freezing temperature with the sun rising around 11 a.m. Many say if proper infrastructure is put in place, it can be promoted as ‘Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh' as per a report in Hindu.

Ms. Khan said at Araku Valley, after participating in a sculpture expo, that APTDC would create required facilities at Lambasingi and Dallepalle near Paderu where a resort is proposed.

Sources said she also enquired about availability of land to take up various projects to explore immense tourist potential in the hill tracts of the district.
