ADTOI organized a Pre-Convention Press Meet on the occasion of its 6th Annual Conventon-cum-Exhibition 2012 with the theme DOMESTIC TOURISM:'IMPETUS TO THE NATIONAL GROWTH' scheduled to be held on 12/13 October 2012 at SKICC in Srinagar in the Hotel The Metropolitan, New Delhi on 5th September 2012.
Welcoming the gathering Mr. Rajat Sawhney, General Secretary, ADTOI welcomed all the Press/Media partners present and thanked them for gracing the occasion. He stated that the convention will give the much needed impetus to the growth of tourism in the valley and act as a cataylyst to the growth of the ecomony of Jammu& Kashmir which witnessed setback in previous years..
With revival of tourism in Kashmir, the people engaged in the tourism business are witnessing unprecedented growth and tourist inflow in the Valley that is expected to reach 20 Million in the coming days. He welcomed and thanked Press/Media for their role in the promoting tourism in the country and showcasing tourism potential of the country.
Mr. Subhash Verma, President reiterated the vibrant and ever growing domestic tourism in the country with 800 million domestic travelers moving across the country. He stated that the aim of taking the Convention to Srinagar was to give further boost to tourism in the valley mainly by domestic tourists from all over the country. The valley which is more dependent on the tourism business is witnessing an unprecedented growth in the tourism front bringing cheers in the face of the people ADTOI convention will further give boost to the tourism business in the days to come. He thanked the Minister of Tourism & Culture, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora and his team on whose initiative ADTOI has decided to take the convention outside Delhi for the first time.
Mr. P P Khanna, Vice President & Convention Chairman welcomed the distinguished guests of Press/Media to the august occasion of the Press Meet. He stated that during the visit of ADTOI team to Srinagar to meet the officials had also met the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir to invite him for the Convention. He has agreed to grace the occasion on 13th Oct as he is already committed on 12th to other engagements.
He informed that ADTOI Convention is supported by Department of Tourism & Culture, Govt. of J & K. Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Gujarat Tourism have also confirmed their support to the Convention. He explained that the inaugural session will be on 12th evening followed by networking dinner at Lalit.
