9 heritage zones included in Master Plan 2025 for Jaipur

The Master Plan 2025 has decided to include nine heritage zones in the Pink City area to maintain equilibrium in maintenance during preservation of the city as per a report in TOI. JDA officials said a detailed plan in this will be drawn to preserve all heritage structures in the city and peripheral areas of tourist interests, including Amber and Ghat ki Guni.

The plan, which especially focuses on developing these various tourist destinations, aims to increase the revenue generated from these structures by alluring more domestic and foreign tourists. "There are many heritage sites near the city which are unattended since long. A list of such structures will be made and a plan will be drawn for their preservation," P Arvind, senior town planner of JDA said.

Jaipur sill remains the most popular destination in the "golden triangle" tour circuit which is speedily becoming a good weekend destination both for foreign and domestic tourists. This has made the authorities take up speedy preservation and restoration process seriously to improve their tourism strategies. Considering this, the officials have included certain tourism zones and sites in the JDA region other than the urban area for development in the Master Plan 2025.

In Jaipur, the heritage zone covers Amer, Walled City area and Ghat ki Ghuni. The plan also covers heritage sites in Jamwa Ramgarh, Sanganer, Bagru, Pachar and Chomu, Kuskas and Achrol and Jaisinghpura Khor other than those in urban areas of city. Apart from preservation, the plan will highlight places like Jaisinghpura Khor and Jamwa Ramgarh, which has tourism potential with heritage structures such as forts, protected temple of Jamwa Ramgarh, a lake and a wildlife sanctuary.
