Minister for Tourism Ghulam Ahmed Mir on Monday informed the JK Legislative Assembly that 48 projects worth Rs 200 Cr have been sanctioned for the development of tourist infrastructure in Jammu region.
Replying to a question by Ashwani Kumar Sharma, minister said that government is focused on Jammu region by way of creating tourism infrastructure and setting up of seven Tourism Development Authorities at Bhardawah, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch, Patnitop, Surinsar-Mansar and Lakanpur-Sarthal.
The minister further said under Border Area Tourism Circuit, Suchetgarh Jammu has been sanctioned by Union Ministry of Tourism at a cost of Rs 6.39 Cr. He said that an amount of Rs 5.11 Cr has been released and utilized for the execution of the project.
