A thick layer of fog enveloping the capital Thursday morning hit hard rail traffic with 32 trains cancelled and 15 delayed. Air traffic, however, remained unaffected with just a single flight getting delayed.
Visibility at 8.30 a.m. was 200 metres, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to the northern railway website at 11 a.m., 32 trains were cancelled due to fog while 15 were running late by over an hour.
Said a statement issued by the Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL): "The weather in Delhi delayed one flight but there were no cancellations due to fog."
Ninety-two flights were delayed due to technical reasons or bad weather at destination.
"Six flights were delayed due to bad weather at the destination airports and 86 due to operational and technical reasons of the airlines," it said.

The minimum temperature was recorded a notch below average at 6.8 degrees Celsius.
The met office said a light blanket of fog would cover the city throughout the day and would get dense in the evening.
"The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 24 degrees," an official said.
